Precision Laser Cutting Services

Fiber laser cutting for tube, pipe, angle iron, channel and I-beam — in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium. Clean, burr-free, dimensionally accurate, and ready to weld.

Laser Cutting Done
Properly, First Time

FABPRO is a specialist optical fiber laser cutting company based in Edenvale, Gauteng. We cut tube, pipe and structural profile to drawing — with every hole, slot, mitre and weld preparation already in place — so the parts that arrive at your workshop are ready to assemble rather than ready to start work on.

Fiber laser technology gives clean, burr-free cuts with a very small heat-affected zone. Material keeps its structural integrity and surface quality, parts stay dimensionally stable, and the deburring, drilling and grinding steps that eat into a fabrication schedule simply disappear.

From a single prototype to a full production run, the accuracy is the same — because the cutting path is programmed, not marked out by hand.

Laser Cutting Across
Every Profile

Tube, pipe and structural section — cut, profiled and prepared on one machine, in one setup, from one CAD file.

Tube Laser Cutting

Our core capability. Round, square, rectangular and oval tube cut to length with mitres, copes, slots, holes and complex profiled ends — all in a single setup, all from one CAD file.

  • Cut-to-length accuracy held across full production runs
  • Mitres, notches and copes cut in the same operation
  • Hole patterns and slots cut into tube walls

Pipe Laser Cutting

Thick-gauge schedule pipe and heavy-wall round section cut with clean, square edges and no post-cut deburring. Ideal for pipework assemblies, saddle joints and branch connections.

  • All standard wall thicknesses in schedule pipe
  • Saddle and branch intersections cut to fit
  • Weld-prep angles cut directly on the laser

Angle Iron Laser Cutting

Equal and unequal angle cut to length with bolt holes, slots and end profiles already in place. Removes the drilling, punching and grinding steps from your fabrication line.

  • Bolt-hole patterns cut to drawing, no marking out
  • Clean mitred and coped ends for welded frames
  • Repeatable across batch quantities

Channel Laser Cutting

PFC, parallel-flange and lipped channel sections processed with cut-outs, service holes and end preparations. Web and flange features are cut in one pass with no re-fixturing.

  • Web and flange cut in a single setup
  • Service and cable holes cut to position
  • Notched ends for slot-together assemblies

I-Beam Laser Cutting

Beam and column sections cut with copes, haunches, bolt holes and connection details ready for assembly — turning a slow, manual mark-and-burn job into a programmed, accurate one.

  • Copes and haunches cut to structural drawings
  • Connection hole patterns positioned to tolerance
  • Consistent geometry across matched sets

Precision Laser Cutting

Where tolerance matters most. Fiber laser cutting delivers micron-level accuracy with a minimal heat-affected zone — parts come off the machine dimensionally stable and ready to weld.

  • Tight, repeatable tolerances part to part
  • Minimal heat distortion on thin-wall sections
  • Burr-free edges — no secondary finishing

Stainless Steel, Aluminium
& Mild Steel

Different metals behave very differently under a laser. Here is exactly what we cut, how thick, and why fiber laser is the right process for each.

Up to 8mm

Stainless Steel Laser Cutting

Fiber laser is the right tool for stainless. The beam cuts a narrow kerf with very little heat spread, so the surrounding material keeps its corrosion resistance and finish — no discolouration bands, no heavy grinding to clean up afterwards.

  • Stainless tube and section in all standard grades
  • Clean edges that keep their passive layer
  • Ideal for food-grade, architectural and marine work
Up to 10mm

Aluminium Laser Cutting

Aluminium is reflective and conducts heat fast, which makes it unforgiving on the wrong machine. Our fiber laser handles it cleanly across round, square and rectangular profiles, holding accuracy on thin-wall extrusions that would distort under other processes.

  • Round, square, rectangular and oval profiles
  • Thin-wall extrusion cut without warping
  • Lightweight frames, trims and enclosures
Up to 12mm

Mild Steel Laser Cutting

Our thickest capability and the workhorse of most projects. Structural mild steel tube, pipe and profile cut to length with every hole, slot and end preparation already in place — so it arrives at your weld bay ready to assemble.

  • Structural tube, pipe and profile sections
  • Weld preparations cut on the machine
  • Batch runs with consistent part-to-part geometry

The Advantage Over
Traditional Cutting

Micron-Level Accuracy

Programmed cutting paths mean every part in a run is identical — no cumulative drift between the first piece and the five hundredth.

Minimal Heat Distortion

A narrow, concentrated beam leaves a very small heat-affected zone, so parts stay dimensionally true and surfaces stay clean.

No Secondary Finishing

Laser-cut edges come off the machine burr-free and square. That removes deburring, grinding and drilling from your downstream process.

Complex Geometry, No Extra Cost

Intricate profiles cost the same to program as simple ones. If you can draw it, we can cut it — there's no tooling to make first.

Fast Setup and Turnaround

Straight from CAD to cutting. Short setup times make small batches and urgent jobs genuinely viable, not just large production runs.

Minimal Material Waste

Efficient nesting and a narrow kerf get more finished parts out of every length — a real saving when material is the biggest line item.

Laser Cutting Questions, Answered

Can't find what you're looking for? Send us your drawings or specifications and we'll come back to you with a straight answer and a competitive quote.

Ask us directly
What materials can you laser cut?
Mild steel up to 12mm thick, aluminium up to 10mm and stainless steel up to 8mm — across round, square, rectangular and oval profiles. We also cut thick-gauge schedule tubing, aluminium tubing and stainless steel tubing in all standard grades. If you are unsure whether your material or wall thickness is within range, send us the specification and we will confirm.
What is the maximum length you can laser cut?
Our machine takes a material feed length of up to 6,500mm and produces finished goods up to 6,000mm long. Tube outside diameter ranges from Ø12mm (or 19×19mm square) up to Ø280mm (or 280×280mm square).
Can you laser cut angle iron, channel and I-beam?
Yes. As well as tube and pipe we process structural profiles — equal and unequal angle, PFC and lipped channel, and beam sections — cutting them to length with bolt holes, slots, copes and end preparations already in place. Sections need to fall within our machine envelope, so send through the profile size and we will confirm before quoting.
Do you take on small quantities or one-off parts?
We do. Because laser cutting is programmed rather than tooled, there is no tooling cost to amortise — which makes prototypes, single components and small batches genuinely economical. We handle everything from one-off pieces through to large production runs.
What file formats do you need for a quote?
DXF, DWG, STEP and IGES all work well, and we can work from PDF drawings too. If you only have a sketch with dimensions, send it through — our team will review it and advise on the best approach for laser fabrication before anything is cut.
How accurate is fiber laser cutting?
Fiber laser cutting holds micron-level accuracy with excellent repeatability across a run. Because the heat-affected zone is so small, parts stay dimensionally stable after cutting rather than pulling out of tolerance as they cool — which matters most on thin-wall and precision assemblies.
Where are you based and do you deliver?
Our facility is at 37 Main Road, Eastleigh, Edenvale, Gauteng. We supply clients across South Africa — components are carefully packaged and dispatched, and we can accommodate urgent requirements where scheduling allows.
